LONDON: Former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto on Wednesday said suicide attacks are damaging Islam and Pakistan.
In an interview with Geo News in London, Benazir said Islam doesn’t permit suicide attacks and the people saying so are misguiding others. She advised the people do not carried away by such elements.
The problems cannot be settled through suicide attacks but by peaceful dialogue, she said.
After reinstatement of the chief justice the circumstances regarding talks with the government have been changed drastically, she said.
She said that the military has to cope with serious challenges in various parts of the country.
The PPP leader categorically said that her party wouldn’t accept Musharraf as president in uniform. Benazir said: “The PPP wants to see military back into barracks as soon as possible.”
