Grand tribal Jirga in session at Miranshah
MIRANSHAH:
The grand tribal Jirga is in session at the headquarter town here
of North Waziristan mainly focusing on to bring the Waziristan peace
agreement in place for ushering in lasting peace.
Maulana Nek Zaman MNA and Chief of Waziristan, Malik
Naseerullah told Geo News that the members of the grand jirga and
the peace coordination committee have arrived at here for the restoration
of peace agreement and maintenance of peace. The jirga would finalize
the modus operandi for the dialogues between the officials and the
local Taliban and, thereafter, formal dialogues would be taking place.
The members of the jirga have had nearly four
hours of discussions with the NWFP Governor in Peshawar. The grand
Jirga had brokered a written peace agreement among the local Talibans,
officials and ulemas, but the local Taliban had announced on Sunday
unilateral termination of this peace agreement alleging government
violations of some provisions of the agreement, which has triggered
volatile situation and unpleasant incidents taking place once again
in the whole of North Waziristan.
