President vows to defeat suicide bombers thru
people’s cooperation
ISLAMABAD:
President General Pervez Musharraf said that the extremists and terrorists
will be defeated with people’s power and through the cooperation
of the people the government will deal with suicide bombers.
He urged the people to be united and stand up against
the extremists with a determination to defeat a handful of terrorists
who are a threat for the country.
He said this while addressing the thousands of students
of Punjab at a ceremony of vocational training centre under the Bait-ul-Mal
in Convention Centre, Islamabad.
President Pervez Musharraf said that this is a war between
moderates and extremists. People should stand up against the terrorists
and the extremists. Courage is needed to meet the challenge and a
person alone cannot fight against it.
The President said that he cannot fight alone the extremists
without the help of the people and even the army or police cannot
do this.
President Musharraf said that only a few elements are
murdering their own people through suicide attacks and terrorism with
the vehicles full of explosives.
He questioned that this is what kind of Islam. Who says
that the objective of Islam is to kill the Muslims and whether these
elements are serving Islam.
President Musharraf expressed his determination to fight
the challenge of militants and defeat the extremists and said that
Allah would help him because the Muslims of the subcontinent had established
this country only with the help of Allah.
President Musharraf said that the activities of the
extremists will affect the economy of the country.
On this occasion, he gave away Rs.20,000 to each
of the three thousand students, who have completed training under
the Vocational Training Institute of Punjab, so that they can start
their business under the rehabilitation scheme of the Bait-ul-Mal.
