Govt accords priority for youth’s welfare:
PM
ISLAMABAD July 07 : Youth is the future of our nation
and the government accords priority to their welfare and economic
well-being so that can become useful members of the society.
This was stated by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz while
reviewing the Youth Policy at the Prime Minister’s House Thursday.
The Prime Minister said that the focus of the Youth
Policy should be on providing vocational training and enhancement
in their skills so that they are gainfully employed.
The Prime Minister said that character building, education
and creation of national fervors in the youth should be the goals
of the Youth Policy.
The Prime Minister said that an enabling environment
will be created so that the true potential and talent of the youth
can be utilized for the development and prosperity of the country
as well as the society.
The Prime Minister said that an extensive sports programme
should be chalked out so that youth are involved in healthy activities.
Sports, he said plays a critical role in character building, team
spirit and values.
The Prime Minster emphasized on the need for Inter-Ministerial
coordination to promote youth programmes and directed all government
department and agencies to encourage youth.
The Prime Minister said that government considers the
youth as future leaders and torch bearers of the nation and directed
the Ministry of Youth to works as catalyst representing the interest
of youth and sensitizing the people.
The Prime Minister said that the greatest challenge
is providing employment to the youth. In this connection the government
is focusing on a vocational training and enhancement of their skills
to help them provide jobs and employment.
The Prime Minister urged that the youth should be mobilized
in community activities, sports activities and inculcated moderation
and middle of the road path by holding seminars and utilizing media.
The meeting was attended by Muhammad Ajmal Kha,
Culture Youth and Sports, Muhammad Ali Durrani, Minister for State
for culture youth and Sports and senior officials.
