Joining SCO is a historic event, says Aziz
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s joining Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as an observer is a historic event, said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz while talking to newsmen aboard airplane while returning to home from SCO summit in Astana.
The decision would have innumerable economic, political and diplomatic benefits to Pakistan, as it will promote extensive cooperation and links with the SCO member countries, he said.
Aziz said the countries in the fold of the organization make a large market that could move towards self-dependence.
Inclusion of Iran and India in SCO will boost peace and security objectives in the region and promote diplomatic and political cooperation, he added.
