Fazl vows to enforce true Islamic system in
country
BANNU:
Asking the people to remain united, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F)
chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said that efforts for the
implementation of a true Islamic system would continue.
Addressing a public gathering at the Bannu Sports Complex
here, Fazl said the country was passing through a very difficult stage
of its history, and urged the people to elect honest men in the upcoming
elections. He said that the country's identity was at stake, adding
that the rulers were bent upon promoting the Western culture while
using the slogan of enlightened moderation. He said that the people
would reject those who had been promoting the US agenda in the country
and his party candidates would sweep the elections. Citing the achievements
of his government in the NWFP, Fazl deplored that efforts of his government
to promulgate the Islamic way of governance through Hasba Bill and
Shariah Bill was foiled by both the opposition and in the province
and the federal government.
It is pertinent to mention here that Maulana Fazlur
Rehman is contesting election for NA-26, Bannu, which is considered
to be a stronghold of JUI-F. NWFP former Chief Minister Akram Khan
Durrani, former MPA Qari Gul Azeem, Syed Hamid Shah, Mufti Abdul Shakoor
and others also addressed the rally.
