Resolution of ME crisis: Pakistan to host meeting of Islamic nations
RIYADH: Pakistan will host a meeting of foreign ministers
of key Muslim countries to discuss and prepare for a summit in Mecca
to seek the resolution of the Middle East crisis, Foreign Minister
Khurshid Kasuri said on Wednesday, APP reported.
Kasuri told reporters that the secretary general of
the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) and foreign ministers
of seven “like-minded Muslim countries” will meet in Islamabad
on February 25 following meetings of President Musharraf with heads
of key Muslim countries to discuss “a new initiative”
for the resolution of the Palestinian dispute.
He said Musharraf has been in close contact with Saudi
Arabia’s King Abdullah over the need for a new initiative to
address the Middle East crisis. He said that King Abdullah had consented
to host the summit in Mecca. agencies
