Italian, Philippine and Egypt Envoys call on Chairman Senate
ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 : The envoys of Italy, Philippines
and Egypt called on Chairman Senate Mohammedmian Soomro here Thursday
in separate.
Italian Ambassador Roberto Mazzotta, Philippines Envoy, Jorgev Arizabal
and the Ambassador of Egypt, Hussain Kamal held separate meetings
with the Chairman in the parliament.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the promotion of bilateral
and arliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and their respective
countries.
The Italian envoy discussed details of Pakistan Senate delegations’
forthcoming visit to Italy at the invitation of the President of the
Italian Senate.
Chairman Senate expressed the hope that the visit of Pakistani parliamentarians
would enhance parliamentary cooperation and further strengthen existing
friendly relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador of Philippines stated that Philippines attached great
importance to its relations with Pakistan and desirous of expanding
these relations in various fields. He delivered a letter from the
President of Philippine Senate extending an invitation to Chairman
Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro to attend the 112th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary
Union (IPU) to be held in Manila on April 3-8, 2005.
The Chairman Senate said that Pakistan and Philippines enjoy close
bilateral relations. There exists vast opportunities to promote their
trade and economic relations in various fields.
The Egyptian Ambassador, Hussain Kamel during his meeting
with the Chairman Senate said that Egypt was keen to further strengthen
its relations with Pakistan. He emphasized the need of more exchange
of visits and parliamentary cooperation between Senate of Pakistan
and Majlis-e-Shoora of Egypt.
The Chairman Senate said that interaction at parliamentary level would
promote bilateral relations and create better understanding between
the people of the two brotherly countries.
