Mumbai attacks charge worries Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed concerns over India blaming Pakistan for the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Talking to Indian High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal, Nawaz said the allegations could harm efforts for peace between the two countries. Condemning the terrorist acts, Nawaz said the situation demanded India and Pakistan take wise decisions instead of blaming each other. He said Pakistan is a peaceful country and would extend maximum help to India to unveil those responsible for the terrorist attacks. Nawaz also criticised Indian media for playing up the terrorist attacks and blaming Pakistan and its agencies for them. Later, Nawaz told reporters at Punjab House that Satyabrata had explained India had not blamed the government of Pakistan or any Pakistani institution for the Mumbai attacks. To a question, the PML-N chief said the government should immediately convene parliament’s session to discuss the issue of the alleged undue favours to the CJ’s daughter and threats to the country’s security. He said the PML-N had concerns over the government’s policies and the way it was running the country’s affairs. muhammad bilal
