Gilani receives unanimous support from politicians

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani received all-out support from all democratic forces of the country on the situation following the Mumbai terror attacks. Gilani telephoned various political leaders who offered their support to the government. The PM contacted former prime minister Zafarullah Jamali, AJK Prime Minister Atiqque Ahmed Khan, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Pervaiz Elahi, Abdul Malik, Israrullh Zehri, Munir Khan Orakzai and senators Shahid Bugti, Ismail Baladi and Hanif Tayyab. Gilani praised the unity among all political forces of the country, adding that Pakistan would explore all possibilities to normalise relations with its neighbours, as Islamabad believed in peace and harmony. Condemning the Mumbai terror attacks, the prime minister said that Pakistan deplored terrorism in all forms. Earlier, Gilani called Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Shujaat Hussain, PML-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain, Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief and National Assembly Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, PML-Functional chief Pir Pagara, Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao President Aftab Sherpao, Leader of Opposition Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mehmood Achakzai, Aitzaz Ahsan, former prime minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Air Marshal (r) Asghar Khan, Abdul Hai Baloch, senators Abdur Rahim Mandokhel and Sajid Mir, Maulana Samiul Haq, Hamid Ali Shah, Tahirul Qadri, and Raja Zulqarnain Khan.
