Sindh CM fetes Prince Karim Aga Khan
KARACHI: A luncheon was hosted Sunday at Chief Minister
House in honour of the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community,
Prince Karim Aga Khan, by Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahim said that Sindh was
a land of Sufis, Walis and the Dervish, and was the gateway for the
spread of Islam in the subcontinent—a destination of peace.
“Sindh is a native place for Prince Karim Aga Khan—one
of his ancestors, Prince Aga Hasan Ali—made the province his
home 150 years ago,” Rahim said, adding that Sir Aga Khan was
also born in Sindh, and his invaluable and selfless services for Pakistan
would never be forgotten.
“The services rendered by Prince Karim Aga Khan
for the welfare of Pakistani people undoubtedly qualify for high praise.
He has played a significant role, particularly in the development
of health and education,” the CM said.
Inviting Khan to invest further in the area, Rahim
said that the ideal law and order situation in Sindh was attracting
domestic and foreign investment in the province. He pointed out the
possible investment avenues—particularly the provision of modern
facilities to tourists at coastal areas, Rani Kot and Gorakh Hill
Station in Dadu. The Aga Khan assured of complete cooperation for
the development and progress of Sindh. app
