Government to provide best comfort to disable persons: Shaukat Aziz

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his message on the Day of Disabled Persons has vowed that his government would do it’s the best to make life comfortable for persons with disabilities in Pakistan.

“We demonstrate our commitment and resolve to make life comfortable for persons with disabilities in our society,” Aziz said in his message on the International day of Disabled Persons on Friday.

The day provides “us” with an opportunity to review our contribution to the cause of their comfort and welfare and enables to amend “our” plans for them in the light of experience, he said.

The major stern of government in this field is on promoting full and effective barrier-free and safe physical environment for them. The government believes that even with their handicaps these persons can make useful contribution to the social and economic growth of the country if an enabling and supportive environment is available in society.

The Government of Pakistan is committed providing health care facilities, education, employment and rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. “We will continue to take decisions for further improving their quality of life, Aziz said. The civil society too must join in this commitment,” Aziz said.

“let us reaffirm our determination to build our country as one of the most favourable and truly accessible, caring and integrated communities for the disabled,” he said.
